2 Features and Functions
Auto Triggering
The auto trigger mode is available from the front panel only.
The power–on trigger mode for the multimeter is front panel operation, in
auto trigger mode.
• Auto triggering takes continuous readings at the fastest rate possible for
the set configuration (e.g. selected measurement function, auto–zero
setting, resolution setting, etc.)
• To enable auto triggering, press to display TRIGGER.
Press or as needed to select AUTO, then press .
Single Triggering
The single trigger mode is available from the front panel only.
• The multimeter takes one reading, or a number of readings specified by
a sample count you enter, each time you press , or upon receiving
an external trigger signal. See also “Number of Samples per
Trigger” on page 72.
• When in single trigger mode, the Trig annunciator is displayed to
indicate that the multimeter is waiting for a trigger.
Reading Hold
The reading hold mode is available from the front panel only.
The reading hold feature allows you to capture and hold a stable reading
on the front panel display. This is especially useful in situations when you
want to take a reading, remove the test probes, and have the reading
remain on the display. When a stable reading is detected, the multimeter
emits a beep (if the front–panel beeper is enabled) and holds the reading
on the display.
• The sensitivity band for reading hold is based on the selected
measurement function. The multimeter will capture and display a new
value only after three consecutive readings are within this band.
• With reading hold enabled, if you change to remote operation, reading
hold is ignored; returning to local (front panel) operation disables
reading hold.
