To confirm the collision cell gas flow rate (6470A and 6495A/B only)
This topic applies to 6470A and 6495A/B only.
The collision cell gas flow for the 6470A and 6495A/B LC/MS systems are set
at the factory and the value is permanently saved in the instrument Smart
Card. Most parameters such as the collision cell gas flow rate work with values
set at the factory.
Do the steps in this topic only if:
• at installation the high vacuum with CC gas on and off are out of range
• the SmartCard was just replaced
• the collision cell gas flow control module or tubings were replaced
• you get incorrect fragmentation
Vacuum range guidelines are listed in Table 8. You can use the guidelines to
determine if a leak exists, but do not use them to determine if the collision cell
flow needs to be adjusted.
Before you begin Pump down the LC/MS instrument overnight (at least 10 hours) and make
sure that the system successfully passes autotune in both polarities.
1 Install Agilent Lab Advisor (version B.02.09 or later).
2 Update Lab Advisor:
a Get the Lab Advisor Extension Agilent QQQ Diagnostics_1.2.0.9.lax (or
later) file from the Agilent Support portal.
b Copy the file Agilent QQQ Diagnostics_1.2.0.9.lax to your computer.
c Open Lab Advisor.
d Click Configuration > Install from .lax file.
