PNA Series Microwave Network Analyzers Troubleshooting
N5230C Measurement System Troubleshooting
Checking the A18 MA 26.5
1. Locate semirigid cable W7 at the output of the A18 MA 26.5.
2. Using a 5/16-inch torque wrench, disconnect W7 at the MA 26.5.
3. Connect the spectrum analyzer to the open connector. Set the spectrum analyzer to measure a signal at
1 GHz.
4. If the 1 GHz signal is not present, replace the A18 MA 26.5. Refer to “Removing and Replacing the A18
MA 26.5” on page 7-28.
5. If the 1 GHz signal is present (and no signal is present at the output of the A19 MASS 50), replace the
A19 MASS 50. Refer to “Removing and Replacing the A19 MASS 50” on page 7-30.
Checking the A23 and A24 60-dB Source Step Attenuators (Option 1E1)
1. Locate the following semirigid cable at the appropriate step attenuator:
• W42 for Port 1
• W43 for Port 2
2. Using a 5/16-inch torque wrench, disconnect the semirigid cable at the step attenuator.
3. Connect the spectrum analyzer to the step attenuator connector. Set the spectrum analyzer to measure a
signal at 1 GHz.
4. If the 1 GHz signal is not present, replace the appropriate step attenuator. Refer to “Removing and
Replacing the A25 and A26 60-dB Source Step Attenuators (Option 1E1)” on page 7-38.
5. If the 1 GHz signal is present, replace the associated test port coupler. Refer to “Removing and Replacing
the A21 and A22 Test Port Couplers” on page 7-36.
