Editing PCR Programs
Programs that are created manually or by the Program Wizard can be
edited in the same way with the functions available in the programming
screen. Preloaded programs can also be edited once they are saved with a
new name (see “To edit a preloaded program” on page 52).
After you edit a PCR program, the program can be saved with the same
name or saved under a new file name. The USB drive on the front of the
instrument allow you to back up your saved PCR programs to a USB stick
or transfer them to another SureCycler 8800 instrument.
To edit program step parameters
1 Press the Programs button on the Home screen.
Depending on your user level (Guest or registered user), the specific
user dire
ctory or Guest directory is displayed listing all existing PCR
program files.
2 Select the program and press Open.
The p
rogram steps are displayed in the Program Window panel of the
program
ming screen.
3 To edit a particular step, double- press the program step.

or that program step opens.
4 Edi
t the parameters as needed and press OK. Y
ou will be returned to
the programming screen.
5 Repeat step 3 and step 4 for each program step that requires editing.

n the programming screen, press Sav
e. You can save your changes
under the same program name or assign a new file name.
7 You can press Star
t at this time to start the PCR program.
