CONFIG IPIF SYSTEM DHCP
Syntax
config ipif system dhcp
Parameters
None.
Mode
Global Configuration mode
Description
Use this command to activate the DHCP client so that the switch receives
an IPv4 management address from a DHCP server on your network. The
switch automatically queries the network for a DHCP server when you
activate the client or whenever you reset or power cycle the switch.
The switch can have only one IPv4 management address.
To manually assign the switch an IPv4 address, refer to “CONFIG IPIF
SYSTEM” on page 32.
The switch reverts to its default IP address, 192.168.1.1, if it does not
receive a response from the DHCP server after one minute.
Confirmation Command
“SHOW IPIF” on page 37
Example
This example activates the DHCP client on the switch:
ATGS950_28PS# configure terminal
ATGS950_28PS(config)# config ipif system dhcp
