On the Standard Edition DVNext, the administrator user account is automatically logged in any time the device is
powered up. There is no method to set up another account on the Standard Edition DVNext nor is there a way to
require a password like in the Compliant Edition. The administrator is the default account and the only account that
will be on a Standard device.
In both the Compliant and Standard Editions, the Admin Functions menu includes settings related to access and
basic instrument management of the DVNext. The Admin functions menu will be dierent depending on whether the
instrument is a Compliant Edition DVNext or a Standard Edition.
For the Compliant Edition DVNext, the Admin Functions menu is only available to the Administrator. Users and
Power Users do not have access rights to the Admin Functions. The Admin Functions menu on the Compliant Edition
DVNext include:
Log in and Lock out Require User ID and Password. Define Lock Out parameters.
Electronic Signatures Enable/Disable electronic signing of files on device.
Users and Access Define User ID, Password, User capabilities. Add User.
Manage Settings These settings include Set Date and Time, Default Path,
Calibration Reminder, Torque Filtering, Import Settings, Settings Reset and Device
Reset.
Manage Data The settings within this section include Backup, Export Results, Archive and FTP
Settings.
Update Software This function allows you to update the software on your instrument.
For the Standard Edition of the DVNext, several settings that appear on compliant edition instruments are not present
in the menu. The Admin Functions menu on the Standard Edition DVNext include:

Filtering, Import Settings, Settings Reset and Device Reset.
Manage Data The settings within in this section include Backup.
Update Software This function allows you to update the software on your instrument.
