9 After connecting up the pipes (acc. to Section 5.5.2), the pump
unit is aligned accurately and/or centred in accordance with
the coupling table

A formal record must be made of pump alignment.
10 When checking the sense of rotation, ensure that the
mechanical seal is not damaged due to dry running (remove
intermediate sleeve from coupling).
11 Mount coupling guard and fill with oil.
