First trial run Functioning of the pump must be monitored carefully during the first few
hours in operation.
Particular attention must be paid to the following:
• temperature of the shaft seal
• required amount of sealing water to the shaft seal
• bearing temperature and vibration
• pressure and flow rate in the pump
After start-up, the medium-consistency pump is handed over to the mill
operator in a complete, reliable condition and ready for operation.
The MC pump is designed for an operation against a closed slide. An
automatic switch-off after 600s operation on closed slide has to be
implemented.

TIAL PRESSURE
TRANSMITTER
First of all, check Control direction (direct or indirect rel.) Direct is OK.
I. Check plausibility of differential pressure transmitter:
1. Pump is filled with water; sealing water ON.
The differential pressure must be about 0 bar (+/- 0,05 bar). Any other
value is proof of an error in calibration, control or wiring.
Set value:
0,2 bar --> valve must open
-0,2 bar --> valve must close
II
II. Check plausibility of differential pressure transmitter:
2. The pump is operated at 1500 rpm with closed valve. (Q=0)
The differential pressure should now be at about 0,8 bar.
(Parameters: medium:water, closed degassing)
CAUTION
If there are any unusual noises, it is essential to look for the cause
without delay and then eliminate the problem!
