The QT interval has a close relationship to heart rate. Faster heart rate
shorten the QT interval; Conversely, the QT interval will prolonged.
7.8.2 QTc Interval
QTc interval is that the QT interval after corrected of heart rate, is the
functionary index of the heart depolarization and the rapolarization.The
monitor use the Bazett formula for correction.
Note:
For QT interval monitoring to be effective, it is suggest that the
arrhythmia monitoring should be turned on.
Limitations for use of QT interval monitoring:(The following
conditions may influence the reliable of QT monitoring )
The T-wave is very flat;
T-waves are hard to defined due to atrial flutter or atrial fibrillation;
The end of the T-wave is difficult to define because of the presence of
U-waves;
A high heart rate causes the P-wave to encroach on the end of the
previous T-wave;
Noise or high QRS morphology variation.
