Notes
Warning!
Checking for damage: Damage to the cable can lead to electric shock. Damage to the metal parts can
lead to injuries. A damaged device is a security risk. Check the packaging and the Technilock
®
L4 for da-
mage. A damaged device may not be used. Damaged cables and connector assemblies must not be used
either.
Caution!
Do not drill into the device: The Technilock
®
L4 is damaged when holes are drilled into it. Only the pre-
drilled holes may be used for the attachment of escutcheons. The Technilock
®
L4 must be removed from
the door before the holes are drilled.
Protect against penetration of dirt and chips: Leave the protective sticker over the locking cylinder hole
until the locking cylinder is installed. The Technilock
®
L4 can be damaged by penetrating chips or dirt.
Before installation, clean out the lock pocket: Before the Technilock
®
L4 is installed in the door or door
frame, the lock pocket and all bores must be cleaned out (blown out or vacuumed out). The Technilock
®
L4
can be damaged by chips falling in.
Tension-free installation: The Techniklock
®
L4 must be installed so that there is no tension on the lock.
Check the Technilock
®
L4 after mounting: The Technilock
®
L4 must move easily in all its functions. The
bolt must move easily when locking. An uneven or sluggish movement of the bolt can indicate an installa-
tion error or installation under tension.
Secure the door against unintended closing: The Technilock
®
L4 locks automatically when the door is
closed and can only be unlocked again with an electrical control signal or by the profile cylinder. A profile
cylinder must be installed before the Technilock
®
L4 is installed.
Observe tolerances for voltage supply: The operating voltage measured on the Technilock
®
L4 with rated
current must lie within the specified tolerances (“Power”, page 35). Exceeding or undercutting the
tolerances will result in damage and malfunction.
Risk of destruction from the temporary key: The use of a temporary key can destroy the lock. Then the
function can no longer be guaranteed. Only use a suitable profile cylinder for the operation of the lock.
With the presence of magnetic materials, recognition of the striking plate is impaired when the
sensing distance is too long:. Door frames or leaves made of magnetic materials (such as steel profiles)
can interfere with the magnetic field of the two magnets and impair the function of the lock. The distance
between the magnets and the door frame or leaf must be at least 10 mm.
