Username - The username that will be used when communicating with the BMC.
Privilege Level - The privilege level of the BMC user, as specified in the BMC (administrator
and so on).
See Using the Customize link in windows on page 14 for more information.
To display or change BMC identity settings:
1. From the side navigation bar, click Appliance Settings. Versions is automatically selected in
the side navigation bar and the Appliance Version Information window will open.
2. From the side navigation bar, click BMCs. The Appliance BMC Ports window will open.
3. Click on the name of a BMC port. Identity will be automatically selected in the side navigation
bar and the BMC Identity window will open. The name of the BMC port will also appear
beneath the DSI5100 appliance name in the side navigation bar.
4. Type a new name for the BMC.
5. Type the IP address, in standard dot notation (xx.xx.xx.xx), for the BMC.
6. Click Save to save your changes.
7. Click Close. The Appliance BMC Ports window will open.
To display or change BMC credentials:
1. From the side navigation bar, click Appliance Settings. Versions is automatically selected in
the side navigation bar and the Appliance Version Information window will open.
2. From the side navigation bar, click BMCs. The Appliance BMC Ports window will open.
3. Click on the name of a BMC port. Identity will be automatically selected in the side navigation
bar and the BMC Identity window will open. The name of the BMC port will also appear
beneath the DSI5100 appliance name in the side navigation bar.
4. From the side navigation bar, click Credentials. The BMC Credentials window will open.
5. Type a new username (0-16 characters) that will be used for communication with the BMC. If
this field is left blank, anonymous authentication will be used for communication with
the BMC.
6. Type a new password (0-16 characters) that will be used for communication with the BMC. If
this field is left blank, anonymous authentication will be used for communication with
the BMC.
7. Click Save to save your changes.
8. Click Close. The Appliance BMC Ports window will open.
To delete BMCs:
NOTE: Users must have Configure Unit Settings rights to delete BMCs. See Changing Unit Access Rights on
page 91 for more information.
