1. Connect one end of an RS-232C cable to the REM O TE 1 IN terminal on the projector.
2. Connect the other end of the RS-232C cable to the control panel.

→ You can change the functions of P IN 2 to PIN 8 using REM OT E 1 MO DE in the INSTA LLATION 2 menu.
Important:
To reset the pin functions to the defaults, se t REM O TE 1 M O DE in the INSTALLATIO N 2 to RES ET.
Contact control
By short-circuiting P in No. 1 and P in No. 9, y ou can control the projector using a c ontrol panel or other device.
When you s hort-circuit Pin No. 1 and Pin No. 9, the following functions cannot be used:
• POWER and BLANK of the remote control and the projector
• RS-232C commands and network functions corresponding to the above-mentioned functions
• REMOT E 1 M ODE, A UTO POW E R ON and AUTO POWER OFF in the INSTALLATION 2 menu.
• STANDBY MO DE in the INSTALLATION 1 menu.
Input switching control
By short-circuiting any of Pin No. 3 to Pin N o. 7, you can switch the input using a control pan el or other device.
When short-circuiting any of Pin N o. 3 to Pin No. 7, you ca nnot use the following functions.
• POWER, BLANK, CO M PUTE R 1, COM PUT E R 2, VIDEO , S-VIDEO , DVI, HDMI, and SDI (for PHWU-81B only) of the remote
control and the projector
• RS-232C commands and network functions corresponding to the above-mentioned functions
POWER control
By s hort-circuiting or open- circuiting Pin No. 2, you can turn on or off the power using a c ontrol panel or other device.
BLANK control
By sh ort-circuiting or open-circuiting Pin N o. 8, you c an turn on or off the BLANK function us ing a control panel or other device.
