Background measurement is important for accurate nuclide identification. Ensure that no radiation
sources are in the vicinity of the SAM 950 during the background measurement.
In calibration mode, place a Cs-137 source front the SAM 950. When the slected number of counts
have been acquired, the screen will display “Success”. Remove the Cs-137 source when calibration is
completed. The x-axis unit change from channel number to energy in keV.
