2. Measure the distance between the front rack post and the rear rack post.
3. Adjust the distance between the long section and the short section of the outer rail, so
that it matches the distance between the front and the rear rack post.
5.2.2 Installing the outer rails in a square-hole rack
To install the outer rails in a square-hole rack:
1. Determine the position in the rack where you want to install the chassis.
2. Place the outer rail at the desired position inside the rack posts with the long section of
the outer rail toward the front rack post and the short section toward the rear rack post.
3. Align the mounting bracket pins at both ends of the outer rail with the holes in the rack
posts.
4. Push the mounting bracket pins at both ends of the outer rail into the holes in the rack
posts until the latches snap into the locked position.
5. Repeat these steps for the other outer rail.
