4. Product description
4.1 Intended use
The SMT 300 is a tester that uses smoke technology for
detection of
R leakage in all low-pressure systems
R Wind and water leaks in the body.
! Use for any purpose other than the intended use de-
scribed above is not allowed. Any other use as well
as modifications to the product, even during assem-
bly and installation, voids all warranty claims.
i The SMT 300 complies with the SAE recommenda-
tions (2007-01-1235 & 2008-01-0554) for increased
safety during fuel vapor tests (EVAP).
4.2 Prerequisites
R Compressed-air connection with 3.4bar – 12bar
(50psi – 175psi).
R Maintenance unit (upstream water and oil separator)
R Vehicle battery 12V.
R Gas bottle with non-flammable gas (nitrogen, argon
or CO
2
) and pressure regulator (7bar / 100psi)
(not included in the scope of delivery).
