Problem Possible cause Action
No boiling Incorrect positioning of the
beaker
u Make sure that the beakers
are correctly installed in
the beaker brackets and
on the heating plate
Beaker position is not active u Activate the beaker posi-
tion
Heater power is set too low u Adapt the heating power to
the ambient conditions
(temperature, level above
sea).
u Choose correct solvent
Elution of Celite® Too much organic solvent for
extraction
u Stick to the standard appli-
cation parameters
Sand/Celite® layers mixed up u Clean the extraction cham-
bers

Precondition:
R Solvent remains in the extraction glass chamber.
R The lift is in the lower position.
R The instrument has ambient temperature.
R A beaker is placed under the extraction glass chamber Soxhlet position.
u Navigate to [Valves] via the navigation path.
ð The display shows the view Valves.
u Select the position of the Soxhlet valve you wish to open.
u Open the Soxhlet valve.
u Wait until the extraction glass chamber is empty.
u Close Soxhlet valve.
