4.6.1 Mixing auger with cutting blades
The mixing augur is equipped with cutting blades (1) that
chop the added feed elements. The product is guided up
and down by means of spiral coils (2) to achieve uniform
mixing and chopping. A delivery arm (3) in the lower
area of the mixing auger ensures rapid and even dosing
of the mixed elements.

The cutting blades can be turned to an aggressive posi-
tion (4) and a degressive position (5) on the mixing au-
ger. The adjustable cutting blades allow the mixing sys-
tem to be individually adapted to the operational require-
ments and the structure of the feed elements to be
mixed.
 Aggressive = shorter mixing time, higher perfor-
mance need
 Degressive = longer mixing time, lower perfor-
mance need
Optional equipment:
Cutting blade extensions (6) can achieve a more even
delivery of the different feed elements.
The cutting blade extensions (6) are to be affixed when
processing extremely dry and long-fibered feed ele-
ments.

Raex hard facing:
Raex 400 hard facing (Fig. 4-12), made of special high-
strength hardened steel, which is extremely resistant to
abrasive wear and high surface pressure. Extends the
service life of mixing augers subjected to high loads.
Ideal for upgrading moderately worn out mixing augers.
