3 Intended use
3.1 Proper use
The multi-target filter cleans drinking water by
lowering the concentration of iron, manganese,
ammonium and other organic substances and
reducingwaterhardness.Asastandalonelter,the
product protects water lines and connected devices,
boilers,andsoon;itcounteractscalcicationand
minimises malfunctions.
Theperformancespecicationsoftheproductmust
match the expected usage conditions. For more
information, see the technical data in these instal-
lation and operating instructions; see “12 Technical
data”, page 55. The applicable parameters for the
feed water must be complied with.
Commercial use of the product only if tested and
approved by a BWT consultant.
Operation of the product only with regular function
checks and the performance of the maintenance
measures required to ensure the safe operating
condition of the product in accordance with the
operating conditions for planning and construction.
3.2 Foreseeable misuse
Failure to use the product over a longer period of
time(7daysasperDINEN806-5).
Using the product for oils, greases, solvents, soaps
and other lubricating media.
Failure to maintain the ambient conditions and
operating conditions; see “12 Technical data”,
page 55.
Failure to comply with the maintenance and service
intervalsspeciedinthismanual.

parts.
3.3 Disclaimer
The manufacturer is released from any liability if the
customer intentionally or forcibly removes guards or
safety devices, if the customer wilfully modies or
circumvents the same, or if the customer does not
follow the instructions in this operating manual or on
the system.

4 Function
4.1 General
Theproductisamulti-targetlterwithanintegrated
regenerative container and functions through ion
exchange.
4.2 Operation
The product is preset. If a lower power is required,
this power can be set by the after-sales service.
Duringlteroperation,thewaterowsfromtopto
bottom through the lter bed. The lter medium
consists of five components that successively
reduce the iron, manganese, hardness, ammonium
and organic substances in the drinking water. The
lteredwaterisfedbackintothedomesticwaterline.
Whentheltermediumisusedup,themulti-target
lterautomaticallystartsregeneration.
4.3 Regeneration
Intelligent quantity-dependent regeneration:
When the unit is started, the available supply of
softened water is programmed (depending on the
hardnessofthedrinkingwater).
At a user-dened time (e.g. at night), the device
checks whether the remaining supply of softened
waterissucientforthefollowingday.Ifthisisnot
the case, the softening column is regenerated to
fully replenish the supply of softened water to 100%.
Nolteredsoftenedwaterismadeavailableduring
a regeneration process.
Duringregeneration,thewaterowsfrombottom
totopthroughthelterbed.Thisloosensthelter
mediumandushesouttheimpurities.Duringre-
generation, the device can be operated through the
bypassvalvewithunlteredoutletwater.
4.4 Operation
The screen and buttons are used for display and
control purposes. During start-up, the hardness of
the local drinking water is entered into the control
system.
4.5 Stagnation management
If the capacity is not used up within 96 hours, the
control unit triggers a regeneration.
