Fuel Strainer
51. A fuel strainer is installed in the engine compartment to filter out any remaining water or
contaminants from the fuel before it reaches the fuel injection system. The fuel strainer drain
valve is adjacent to the oil dip stick and is accessed through a door on the left side of the
engine cowling. During the pre-flight inspection, the strainer should be opened to drain for
approximate 4 seconds to clear any water or sediment.
