Attaching External Instruments
You can expand connections in a test by attaching multiple external instruments. The required
cable for attaching external instruments is a GPIB Interface Converter. If you are only
attaching one external instrument, you can attach the external instrument using an RS-232
Serial cable instead of a GPIB Converter, which is a less expensive option. However, for
maximum capability, Cirris recommends using a GPIB Converter. GPIB Interface Converters
can be purchased from National Instruments (ni.com). RS-232 Serial Cables can be
purchased from any computer supply company.
