Energization Box 50
ENERGIZATION BOX
Introduction
The CH2 Energization Box (EBox) allows you to provide external power to points in your
device-under-test. The EBox also provides the CH2 with the ability to test relays, lamps, LED
lights, and other similar components needing external power. CH2 systems can have an
unlimited number of EBox units.
Selecting a Power Supply
The CH2 EBox provides 160 points of power and can be upgraded with additional 160 point
modules to a maximum of 800 points per EBox. The EBox accommodates a wide variety of
external power requirements using either a fixed or variable power supply. The total
energization current supplied by the EBox is limited to 1 Amp and the EBox 2 is limited to 2
Amps (the EBox 2 came out in July, 2011). If you have your own external power supply, call
Cirris for assistance. The power supplies you can purchase from Cirris are listed below:
Fixed Voltage Power Supply- The available fixed voltage power supplies are 5, 12,
24, 28, or 48 VDC. The voltage of the fixed power supply should match the voltage
needed to energize your device.
Variable Power Supply- Provides the EBox with a user variable of 0 to 60 Volts.
Warning! When you are using an External Variable Power Supply, do not apply more
than 60 V peak to the EBox. Energization voltages greater than 60 V may damage
your CH2 tester.
