The two types of external instruments available are measuring devices and variable power
supplies. Various devices can measure complex components in your test and provide
greater accuracy. Power supplies allow you to power components in your test. You can
purchase external instruments from their manufacturer or through Cirris. If you have an
external instrument that is not supported, call Cirris for assistance at 1-800-441-9910.
The following measurement devices are supported:
Entire Keithley 2400 SourceMeter® Series
These instruments can do the following:
o Combine a digital voltmeter with a
precision voltage-current source
o Address difficult tasks such as
measuring breakdown voltages, leakage
currents, and high resistance values
Agilent/HP 34401 and 34410 DMMs
These instruments can do the following:
o Provide high accuracy voltage, current,
and resistance measurements
o Measure Capacitance (34410 DMMs only)
LCR Meter 4263B
This instrument can do the following:
o Provide high accuracy inductance and
capacitance measurements
o Measure resistance
The following power supplies are now supported:
SCPI Compliant Power Supplies
These power supplies can only be used with the
CH2 Energization Box (see page 51). When
attached to the EBox, these power supplies can
do the following:
o Light up lamps and LED lights in a test
o Test assemblies that contain two or more
different voltage relays
o Test parameters that require variable
voltages, such as relay pull-in voltages
and drop-out voltages
o Set any voltage from 0 to 60 VDC
o Change voltage during a test.
