How to Configure Call Home
To configure Call Home, complete the following tasks:
• Configuring the Management Interface VRF, page 4 (required)
• Configuring a Destination Profile, page 5 (required)
• Subscribing to Alert Groups, page 17 (required)
• Configuring Contact Information, page 21 (required)
• Configuring the Number of Call Home Messages Sent Per Minute, page 23 (optional)
• Enabling and Disabling Call Home, page 23 (required)
• Sending Call Home Communications Manually, page 24 (optional)
Configuring the Management Interface VRF
The Call Home feature on the Cisco ASR 1000 Series Routers requires use of the Gigabit Ethernet
Management interface virtual routing and forwarding (VRF) instance. The Gigabit Ethernet
Management interface is automatically part of its own VRF named “Mgmt-intf.”
To configure the Management interface VRF, complete the following steps:

1. configure terminal
2. interface GigabitEthernet 0
3. vrf forwarding Mgmt-intf
4. ip address ip-address mask [secondary [vrf vrf-name]]
