•Themainwireharnessforthevehicleusesa10kOhmpull-upresistorforthechargerinterlockcircuit(chargerplug
lockoutpinpullsLotolockoutthevehicle,andthe10kresistorpullsHioncechargerplugisremovedtoenablethe
vehicle).Inaddition,thethreethrottlecircuitresistorsarenowinternaltothecontroller.
•TheB-wireassemblyconnectstheB-terminalofthecontrollertothenegative(-)postofbatteryno.6(6x
8-Voltbatteryset).
•Batterychargeindicatorlightintheinstrumentpanel.ThislightisanLEDandisusedtoconrmwhenacharge
cyclebeginsandwhenthebatterypackhasreachedalowstateofcharge.
•Thecontrollerhasdatacollectingfunctions.Pin11inthe16-pinconnectorisnowutilizedtooperatethecharge

slowthevehicle.TherearetwofeaturesoftheExcelelectricalsystemthatwillactivatethemotorbrakingfunction:
WalkAwayBrakingandMotorBraking(adjustablewiththeCDThandset).
•WalkAwayBraking:Thisfeaturepreventsthevehiclefromrollingawayuncontrolledshouldthedriverparkona
slopeandleavethevehiclewithoutlockingtheparkbrake.Thevehiclewillrollatabout1to3mph(1.5to4.8
km/h).Ifthewalkawaybrakingfunctionremainsengagedfortwosecondsormore,awarningbuzzerwillsoundto
alertthedriverthatmotorbrakinghasbeenactivated.

•WalkAwayBrakingwillnotlimitvehiclespeedto3mph(4.8km/h)onverysteepgrades.Donot
operatevehicleonslopesexceeding20%grades.
