SeeGeneralWarningsonpage1-2.
Whileitisnotnecessarytoremovetheelectronicsmodulefromthevehicle,accesstoindividualcomponentsmaybe
easierwiththemoduleremoved.
ELECTRONICSMODULEREMOVAL
1.Disconnectthebatteriesanddischargethecontroller(1).SeeDisconnectingtheBatteries–ElectricVehicles
onpage1-4.
2.Removethebatteriesfromthevehicletoprovideenoughroomtoaccessthecontroller(1)(Figure13-11,Page
13-11).SeeBatteryReplacementonpage14-5.
3.Removethebolt(2)thatsecurestheelectronicsmodule(3)tothebatterybucket.
4.Pullelectronicsmodule(3)forwardanddisconnecttheheavygaugewiresfromthecontroller(1)andsolenoid(4).
5.Disconnectthe16-pinconnector,4-pinconnector,andspadeconnectorsfromthecontroller(1).
6.Disconnectthespadeconnectorsonthefrontofthesolenoid(4).
7.DisconnectthetwowiresfromT ow/Runswitch(5).
8.Lifttheelectronicsmodule(3)fromthevehicle.SeefollowingWARNING.
WARNING
•Shortingofbatteryterminalscancausepersonalinjuryordeath.
–Donotplacecomponentmountingplatedirectlyontopofbatterieswhenremovingorinstalling
plate.
–Removeplatefromvehiclecompletely.
