Maintenance Section
Engine Oil Level - Check
Hot oil and components can cause personal
injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to
contact skin.
Park the lift truck level, with the forks lowered,
parking brake applied, transmission in NEUTRAL
and the engine stopped.
1. Raise the hood and seat assembly. Make cer-
tain the support cylinder securely holds the hood
open.
2. Maintain oil level between the MAX. and MIN.
marks on the dipstick.
Coolant Level - Check, Clean,
Change
Check Coolant Level
At operating temperature, the engine coolant is
hot and under pressure.
Steam can cause personal injury.
Check the coolant level only after the engine
has been stopped and the filler cap is cool
enough to touch with your bare hand.
Remove the filler cap slowly to relieve pressure.
Cooling system conditioner contains alkali.
Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to pre-
vent personal injury.
1. Observe the coolant level with engine cold.
Maintain coolant level to the proper line on expan-
sion bottle. If the expansion bottle has no coolant, it
will be necessary to check coolant at the radiator
filler neck.
2. Remove the radiator cap. Fill radiator to the top
of the filler neck. Inspect radiator cap. Replace if
damaged. Install the radiator cap.
