Lift Chains - Check, Adjust
1. Check the lift chains for wear. Complete instruc-
tions on the use of the tool are furnished.
2. Lift the forks high enough to put their full weight
on the carriage and chains.
3. Check the lift chains for equal tension. The ten-
sion on the chains must be equal.
4. If the chains are loose or the tension is not
equal, have the chains adjusted.
5. Measure the chain length for 12 link in the inter-
mediate area of chain full length. If the dimension
indicates longer than 310.9mm, replace the
chains.
To Adjust
1. Loosen locknut(1) and turn nut(2), on the loose
chain to equalize temsion on the lift chains.
2. Tighten locknut(1).
Universal Joint - Inspect
( Diesel Engine )
1. Inspect for loose retaining bolts. Check for worn
or damaged bearings.
2. Have worn or damaged bearings replaced.
Tighten the bolts if necessary.
