1126 Configuring Class-of-Service
CoS Interface Configuration Commands
Beginning in Privileged Exec mode, use the following commands in to
configure the traffic shaping and WRED exponent values for an interface.
Interface Queue Configuration
Beginning in Privileged Exec mode, use the following commands in to
configure and view CoS interface queue settings.
CLI Command Description
configure Enter Global Configuration mode.
interface interface Enter Interface Configuration mode, where interface
is replaced by gigabitethernet
unit/slot/port ,
tengigabitethernet
unit/slot/port , or port-channel
port-channel number .
traffic-shape
bw kbps Sets the upper limit on how much traffic can leave a
port. The
bw variable represents the shaping
bandwidth value from 64 to 4294967295 kbps.
random-detect exponential-
weighting-constant
exponent
Configure the WRED decay exponent (range: 0–15)
for the interface.

cos-queue min-bandwidth
bw
Specify the minimum transmission bandwidth (range:
0-100% in 1% increments) for each interface queue.
cos-queue strict queue-id Activate the strict priority scheduler mode for each
specified queue. The
queue-id value ranges from 0 to 6.
cos-queue random-detect
queue-id
Set the queue management type for the specified
queue to WRED. The no version of this command
resets the value to taildrop.
exit Exit to Global Config mode.
