Removing the cooling fan cage assembly
Prerequisites
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
CAUTION:
Ensure that the cables inside the system are correctly installed and retained by the cable
retention bracket before installing the cooling fan cage assembly. Incorrectly installed cables may get
damaged.
2. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system.
3. Remove the air shroud.
4. Remove mid top cover
5. Remove the cooling fan
6. Observe and disconnect the cables from system board and backplane.
Steps
1. Flip out the blue release plunger to unlock the cooling fan cage assembly from the chassis.
2. Hold the blue release plunger and lift the cooling fan cage assembly away from the system.
