•Presets: Selects automatic mappings and configurations
(known as presets) that quickly and conveniently sets up the
system for operation by adding and dropping signals. Using
Presets involves selecting a starting protocol and its interface,
and then making an internal connection to multiplex with
another protocol or mapping.
Auto Conf: (Only available on specific protocols). Detects var-
ious parameters about the incoming signal, such as signal rate,
mapping, and payload pattern, and configures the unit accord-
ingly.
Save/Restore: Provide two options Save This Test Set and
Restore This Test Set.
•Save This Test Set: Saves a customized configuration for all
protocol processor Transmit or Receive settings.
Restore This Test Set: Allows the user to switch the Protocol
mode between SONET and SDH, or DS3/DS1 and E3/E1. This
menu also allows users to Restore Factory Default, which not
only changes the Protocol mode but also forces all TX and RX
settings (including Overhead bytes, Test Streams, Add/Drops,
Etc.) back to their original factory default configurations. This
menu also allows users to recall any user-saved settings config-
uration file for all the processors on the selected Test Unit.
Clear History: Resets all LEDs and Status Indicators (the LED
text).
Lock Screen: Disables the unit’s touch screen. To lock and
unlock the screen, you must enter a User ID and Password.
Any User ID with Admin permissions can also be used to
unlock the touch screen.
Locking the touch screen on one GUI session does not have
any affect other Remote GUI sessions.
Shut Down: Provides access to Shutdown or Reboot the NIC
unit’s operating system. After the operating system has success-
fully shut down the screen will turn black, and the power switch
can safely be turned to the Off position.
Protocol Processor and Function Tabs
The first set of tabs are located at the top of the touch screen and remain
static on the screen regardless of which tab is selected.
