File Services
Viewing a File
1. Select and choose . The File Services screen
appears.
2. Select a file from the File List.
3. Select View. The contents of the file appear in the View window.
4. Use or (a toggle button) to display the file in
Hex or ASCII format.
Screen capture files with .BMP file extensions cannot be
viewed. Attempting to view these file types might cause the
GUI to stop responding for several seconds.
Transferring Files to USB or Compact Flash Drive
A file can be transferred from the test set to a remote device (PC running
Remote GUI or using FTP) or to a local device (USB or Compact Flash
drive).
If using the FTP function, see the NIC Users Manual for detailed
instructions on transferring files to PC.
NIC units manufactured after 2006 with either System Controller II or
System Controller III modules support USB flash drive technology.
• Units with System Controller II will have a row of small
LEDS on the left edge of the PCMCIA slots.
• Units with System Controller III will have a row of small
LEDS on the left edge of the System Drive slot, as well as
three USB 2.0 connector ports.
• Units manufactured prior to 2006 support Compact Flash tech-
nology, using PCMCIA to CF adaptor.
Make sure that a USB flash drive or CF/PCMCIA card is
connected to the NIC before selecting the File Services but-
ton.
