4.9.6 NAT Parameter
NAT Traversal (Network Address Translator Traversal) is a computer networking
technique of establishing and maintaining Internet protocol connections across gateways that
implement network address translation (NAT). NAT breaks the principle of end-to-end
connectivity originally envisioned in the design of the Internet.
STUN
Simple Traversal of UDP over NATs is a lightweight protocol that allows
applications to discover the presence and types of NATs and firewalls between them and the
public Internet. It also provides the ability for applications to determine the IP addresses
allocated to them by the NAT. STUN works with many existing NATs, and does not require
any special behavior from them. STUN doesn’t support TCP connection and H.323.
4.9.7 Speed dial
Speed dial is a function that is available on telephones which provides an easy method of
calling a telephone number by pressing fewer digits on the keypad. The tool enables one to
save, organize, and have easy and quick access to regularly dialed numbers.
