CompressorOilFilters
Theoilltermustbereplacedevery500hoursofoperationorsix(6)months,whichever
comesrst.
Toserviceoilltersitwillrstbenecessarytoshuttheunitdown.Wipeoffanyexternal
dirtandoilfromtheexterioroftheltertominimizeanycontaminationfromenteringthe
lubricationsystem.Proceedasfollows:
Removal
Highpressureaircancausesevereinjuryordeathfromhotoilandying
parts.Alwaysrelievepressurebeforeremovingcaps,plugs,coversor
otherpartsfrompressurizedairsystem.
1.Opentheserviceairvalve(s)toensurethatsystemisrelievedofallpressure.Close
thevalve(s).
2.Turnthespin-onlterelementcounterclockwisetoremoveitfromthelterhousing.
Inspectthelter.
3.Inspecttheoillterheadtobesurethegasketwasremovedwiththeoillterelement.
Cleanthegasketsealareaontheoillterhead.
Installinganewoillterelementwhentheoldgasketremainsonthe
lterheadwillcauseanoilleakandcancausepropertydamage.
4.Lubricatethenewltergasketwiththesameoilbeingusedinthemachine.
5.Installnewlterbyturningtheelementclockwiseuntilgasketmakesinitialcontact.
Tightenanadditional1/2to3/4turn.
6.Startunitandallowtobuilduptoratedpressure.Checkforleaksbeforeplacingunit
backintoservice
CompressorOilCooler
Thecompressorlubricatingandcoolingoiliscooledbymeansofthenandtube-type
oilcooler,locatedbesidetheradiator.Thelubricatingandcoolingoil,owinginternally
throughthecoresection,iscooledbytheairstreamfromthecoolingfanowingpastthe
coresection.Whengrease,oilanddirtaccumulateontheexteriorsurfacesoftheoilcooler,
itsefciencyisimpaired.
Eachmonthitisrecommendedthattheoilcoolerbecleanedbydirectingcompressedair
whichcontainsanonammable,non-causticsafetysolventthroughthecoreoftheoilcooler.
Thisshouldremovetheaccumulationofgrease,oilanddirtfromtheexteriorsurfacesofthe
