FLOW CONTROL VALVE TESTING FOR HOC PUMP
Follow these steps to test the flow control valve.
BYPASS AND BINDING TEST
1. Warm hydraulic system temperature to 120°F.
2. Increase oil flow through the flow control valve until you reach 55 GPM.
3. When the oil starts flowing from the bypass port, record the flow going through the valve. The oil
should bypass at +/- 3 GPM of the 55 GPM flow.
4. Cycle two or three more times to be sure valve spool moves freely and does not bind.
5. If the valve exceeds 55 GPM, check for the correct orifice in the spool.
FLOW CONTROL LEAKAGE TEST
Check valve spool leakage by running 50 GPM (5 less than the actual flow of 55 GPM) through the valve
with 1100 PSI on the flow control valve outlet. The flow control leakage should not exceed 1000
CC/minute (about 1/4 GPM) from the valve signal port.
