6.16 REPLACEMENT OF THE ANGLE GEAR UNI M8
Every 200 operating hours check the gear lubricant capacity and condition of the gear wheels
- Lift the Spider into a vertical position – over the fuel tank and with the angular gearboxes facing upwards
- Remove the lid of the angle gear (Fig. 93)
- Fill the gearbox with fresh grease – Mobilux EP004 – approximately 100ml – 5mm above the bigger wheel
Dismounting:
- Lift the mower (the wheels must be at least 150 mm off the ground)
- Turn the wheel suspension in a straight direction
- Dismount the corner bracket see 6.15 Replacement of the driving belts
- Pull the pulley off
- Support the wheels to prevent them from slipping out
- Remove the wheel housing see 6.20 Replacement of the wheel housing
- Remove the cover of angle gear on the bottom part of the arm (ATTENTION – this sheet secures the wheel
suspension from slipping out) (Fig. 94)
- Remove the angle gearbox
Mounting:
Don´t forget to reinstall the Stop ring PA-6 onto the new angle gear (Fig. 93)
- Screws of the angle gear cover have to be secured, using LOCTITE 243
- Ensure the wheels slide in the gear theeth in a straight direction (or adjust the steering geometry afterwards)
- MIND the position of the needle bearing securing ring in the arm groove
- Lubricate the needle bearings, pulley shaft and the steering teeth transmission (grease) (Fig. 93)
- ATTENTION!!! Mount by hands only – clean the shaft, lubricate it and push in smoothly by hands!!!
- Tighten 4 screws, using LOCTITE 243
- Install spacing ring 17-22 v41, key, belt pulley and spacing ring 17-22-v5,5
- Mount the belt on the hydraulic motor pulley (Fig. 89) and corner pulley (Fig. 90)
- Push the corner bracket onto the shaft by hands
- Tighten the bolts 3, then 2 and screw 1 (Fig. 92)
- Loctite the screw 2 with LOCTITE 243
- Check the clearance between transmission and the arm, approximately 4mm (Fig. 91)
- Install the wheel housing see 6.20 Replacement of the wheel housing
- Close the by-pass valve on the pump
