4 Functional description
The metering pump ELADOS
EMP II is a diaphragm metering pumps driven by an electrical
motor for industrial use.
The metering pumps are suitable for use with clean, non-abrasive metering media with a
viscosity of up to 200 mPas (measuring manner: Brookfield).
They are powered by a synchronous motor which is jam-proof and runs at a continuous RPM.
An eccentric drive moves the diaphragm and thus drives the metering medium over the pressure
valve (see chapter 5.1, “Setup”, Fig. 5.1, Pos. 9). The suction valve is closed.
The diaphragm is repositioned by means of a retaining spring. In this way, the metering medium is
sucked through the suction valve (see Fig. 5.1, Pos. 5) into the pump head
(see Fig. 5.1, Pos. 7). The pressure valve is closed.
The discharge flow can be steplessly regulated during operation via the stroke setting
(see Fig. 5.1, Pos. 3). In this way, the resetting motion of the diaphragm is limited.
The pump heads are fitted with a rapid vent valve (see Fig. 5.1, Pos. 8).
The pump is configured with a on/off switch an a, mechanical stroke adjustment.
The pump operates as soon as the voltage is applied and the mains switch is set to ‘I’.
