Using the E-46A

4 Check the activities on the Fiery QuickTouch display panel.
Allow startup to proceed without interruption. Do not press any buttons while the system is starting.
5 To shut down the E-46A, do one of the following:
Note: Make sure that the E-46A is not receiving, processing, or printing any files. If the system has just finished
processing, wait at least five seconds after the system reaches Idle state before you power off the printer.
• From the Fiery NX Station monitor (Optional) or Windows client computer using Remote Desktop Connection,
click the Windows Start button, and select Power > Shut Down.
• From the Fiery QuickTouch Home screen, press the Quick Options menu button and select Shutdown system.
• From the printer operation panel, do the following:
• Press the Home button and select the Fiery icon.
• Press the Fiery tab, select Restart Fiery and then press Shut Down.
6 If you shut down the E-46A, move the E-46A power switch to the off (O) position for maximum energy savings or
service (wait 10 seconds before you proceed).
To restart or reboot the E-46A from Fiery NX Station (Optional) or Remote Desktop Connection
1 Make sure that the E-46A is not receiving, processing, or printing any files.
If the system just finished processing, wait at least five seconds after the system reaches Idle before you proceed.
2 Do one of the following:
• To reboot the entire system including the operating system, click the Windows Start button and select Power >
Restart.
Restarts both E-46A and Windows operating system.
• To restart only the E-46A system software, Click “>>” icon on the Fiery Ticker and select Server Actions > Restart
Fiery and then click OK.
Restarts only the E-46A system software without rebooting the Windows operating system.
