10.1 Maintenance intervals
The following maintenance tasks must be performed:

Base device
Basic device Clean surface with soft cloth, water or a mild
detergent.
Daily
Clean the air vents with a soft cloth, water or a mild
detergent.
Monthly
PlasmaQuant MS (Q) only: Replace aluminum oxide of
the adsorption trap.
Once a year by customer service
Sample introduction system
Sample introduction system Aspirate ultrapure water. At the end of each analysis
Drain vessel Check the waste level.
Empty the drain vessel.
Daily
If necessary
Torch Remove and clean.
Check for cracks or deformation caused by
overheating.
Replace the torch.
Weekly
Weekly
If necessary
Align the plasma. Weekly
Check the plasma and auxiliary gas tubing for wear. Weekly
Spray chamber Remove and clean. Monthly
Nebulizer Remove and clean. Monthly
Transfer tube Remove and clean. Monthly
Peristaltic pump Clean with a soft cloth, water or a mild detergent. If necessary
Peristaltic pump tubing Inspect pump tubing.
Replace pump tubing.
Daily
If it has lost elasticity.
As a general guide sample
tubing should be replaced after
20 hours of continuous use.
Interface
Induction coil Inspect the state. Check for deformation. Monthly
Sampler cone Remove and clean. Daily (for high matrix samples)
or weekly
Skimmer cone Remove and clean. Daily (for high matrix samples)
or weekly
Mass spectrometer system
Mass spectrometer system Perform a mass calibration. Weekly
Detector Check the detector voltage. Weekly
Autosampler
Surfaces Clean. Daily
Collection tray Remove residue liquid from tray. If there are residues in the tray
