System configuration / connection of function blocks (Fig. 26):
22. A final "overall system configuration" is necessary so that the operating mode of the Analog
Input Function Block can be set to AUTO and the field device is integrated into the system
application.
For this purpose, configuration software, e.g. NI-FBUS Configurator from National
Instruments, is used to connect the function blocks to the desired control strategy (mostly
using graphic display) and then the time for processing the individual process control functions
is specified.

23. Once you have specified the active LAS, download all the data and parameters to the field
device.
24. Set the operating mode in the MODE_BLK parameter group (TARGET parameter) to AUTO.
However, this is only possible if the following two conditions are met:
– The function blocks are correctly connected to one another.
– The Resource Block is in the AUTO operating mode.
