The Cooper test is a fairly strenuous exertion test which is not suitable for people in poor health. After a
good warm-up, the person taking the test must walk as far as possible in 12 minutes at a steady pace.
At the end of the test, the person must cool down properly. The distance walked is compared with
standard (norm) values.
