Control Method for Devices
The followings are methods for controlling devices.
•ESC/POS command:
This can control the EPSON TM printer, cash drawer, and customer display. (For
details, refer to "ESC/POS command" on page 166.)
•APD5 (Windows printer driver):
Windows printer driver for TM-T70II-DT printers. The driver controls paper cut
and cash drawer, and includes the status API that monitors the printer status a
nd
sends ESC/POS commands. This driver can be installed with APD4.54 or later
versions and both can be operated together.
•APD4 (Windows printer driver):
This driver can control TM printers controlled by TM-T70II-DT, cash drawers,
and customer displays.
The Statu s API (Epson original DLL) that monitors printer status and sends
ESC/POS commands is also a
ttached to this driver.
•OPOS ADK:
This OCX driver can control POS peripherals using OLE technology*1. Because
controlling POS peripherals with original commands is not required on the
application side, efficient system development is possible.
•OPOS ADK for .NET:
OPOS ADK for .NET allows you to develop applications that are compati
ble
with Microsoft POS for .NET. When developing applicati ons, use a separate
development environment such as Microsoft Visual Studio .NET.
*1: OLE technology developed by Microsoft divides software into part blocks. The OPOS
driver is presupposed to be used with a development environment such as Visual Basic,
unlike ordinary Windows drivers. It is not a driver to be used for printing from commercial
applications.
