Technical Description EN/LZB 111 0542 P2B
6.10.2 Backup and Restore
Since the system hard disk and other unreliable hardware may fail, a
database backup procedure can be manually ordered by the operator.
The database will be frozen before the backup.
Backed-up databases can be restored in case of need. This will of
course require the system to be stopped and restarted, according to the
following steps:
Stop the system in a controlled manner.
Restore the previously backup database.
Upon successful restoration, initiate a hot restart of the system.
6.10.3 Atomicity of Transactions
The atomicity of transactions is ensured by having only one interface
for writing data, only one entity for handling a database table, no
dependencies between data records, and other security and database
maintenance features.
