Note: Deter mine the left and right sides of the mac hine from the nor mal operating position.
Maintenance Safety
• P ark mac hine on lev el g round, diseng ag e dri v es ,
set parking brak e , stop engine , and remo v e k ey .
W ait for all mo ving par ts to stop before lea ving
the operator’ s position. Allo w the mac hine to
cool before ser vicing, adjusting, fueling, cleaning,
or storing .
• If y ou lea v e the k ey in the switc h, someone could
accidently star t the engine and seriously injure y ou
or other b ystanders . R emo v e the k ey from the
switc h before y ou perfor m any maintenance .
• Nev er allo w untrained personnel to ser vice
mac hine .
• Disconnect batter y or remo v e spark plug wire
before making any re pairs . Disconnect the
neg ati v e ter minal rst and the positi v e last.
R econnect positi v e rst and neg ati v e last.
• K ee p all guards , shields , switc hes , and all safety
devices in place and in proper w orking condition.
F requently c hec k for w or n or deteriorating
components and re place them with g en uine

W ARNING
R emo v al or modication of original
equipment, par ts and/or accessories may
alter the w ar ranty , contr olla bility , and safety
of the machine. Unauthoriz ed modications
to the original equipment or f ailur e to use
original Exmar k par ts could lead to serious
injur y or death. Unauthoriz ed changes to the
machine, engine, fuel or v enting system, may
violate applica ble safety standards such as:
ANSI, OSHA and NFP A and/or go v er nment
r egulations such as EP A and CARB.
W ARNING
Hy draulic uid escaping under pr essur e
can penetrate skin and cause injur y . F luid
accidentall y injected into the skin must be
surgicall y r emo v ed within a few hour s by a
doctor f amiliar with this f or m of injur y or
gang r ene may r esult.
• If equipped, mak e sur e all h y draulic uid
hoses and lines ar e in good condition and
all h y draulic connections and ttings ar e
tight bef or e appl ying pr essur e to h y draulic
system.
• K eep body and hands a w ay fr om pinhole
leaks or nozzles that eject high pr essur e
h y draulic uid.
• Use cardboard or paper , not y our hands,
to nd h y draulic leaks.
• Safel y r eliev e all pr essur e in the h y draulic
system by placing the motion contr ol
lev er s in neutral and shutting of f the
engine bef or e perf or ming an y w or k on the
h y draulic system.
F or EFI (Electr onic Fuel Injection) Units:
W ARNING
Fuel system components ar e under high
pr essur e. T he use of impr oper components
can r esult in system f ailur e, gasoline leaka ge
and possible explosion.
Use onl y appr o v ed fuel lines and fuel lter s
f or high pr essur e systems.
• Use care when c hec king blades . W rap the blade(s)
or w ear glo v es , and use caution when ser vicing
them. Only re place damag ed blades . Nev er
straighten or w eld them.
• Do not rely solely on mec hanical or h y draulic
jac ks for suppor t. Use adequate jac k stands .
• Carefully release pressure from components with
stored energ y .
