Check for Loose Hardware
Service Interval : Before each use or daily
1. Stop engine , w ait for all mo ving par ts to stop , and
remo v e k ey . Eng ag e parking brak e .
2. Visually inspect mac hine for any loose hardw are
or any other possible problem. Tighten hardw are
or cor rect the problem before operating .
Service Air Cleaner
Service Interval : Every 250 hours —Replace
the primary air cleaner
element — check
secondary air cleaner
element; replace if dirty .
(May need more often
under severe conditions.

Every 500 hours —Replace
the secondary air cleaner
element (May need more

Check Air Filter Assembly (if
equipped)
Service Interval : As required
Important: T o pr ev ent engine dama ge, al w ays
operate the engine with both air lter s and co v er
installed.
1. W hen c hec king or re placing the air lter element,
mak e sure the air lter assembly is installed in the
brac k ets .
2. P osition the air cleaner co v er so that the
breather v alv e does not interfere with the throttle
mec hanism.

Change Engine Oil

2. Drain oil while engine is w ar m from operation.
3. T he oil drain hose is located on left hand side of
engine at the rear . Place pan under mac hine to
catc h oil. R emo v e plug from end of drain hose .
Allo w oil to drain and re place oil drain plug .
T or que plug to 20-24 ft-lb .
4. R e place the oil lter ev er y other oil c hang e . Clean
around oil lter and unscrew lter to remo v e .
Before reinstalling new lter , apply a thin coating
of Exmark 4–Cycle Premium Engine oil on the
surface of the r ubber seal. T ur n lter cloc kwise
until r ubber seal contacts the lter adapter then
tighten lter an additional 1/2 to 3/4 tur n.
5. Clean around oil ll cap and remo v e cap . Fill to
specied capacity and re place cap .
