Maintenance
1. Stop engine , w ait for all mo ving par ts to stop , and
remo v e k ey . Eng ag e parking brak e .
2. W ait for m ufer to cool.
3. If any breaks in the screen or w elds are obser v ed,
re place ar rester .
4. If plug ging of the screen is obser v ed, remo v e
ar rester and shak e loose par ticles out of the
ar rester and clean screen with a wire br ush (soak
in solv ent if necessar y). R einstall ar rester on
exhaust outlet.
Thread Locking Adhesives
T hread loc king adhesi v es suc h as “Loctite 242”
or “F el-Pro , Pro-Loc k Nut T ype” are used on the
follo wing fasteners:
• Pump shea v e screws .
• Shea v e retaining bolt in end of engine crankshaft.
Mobil HTS Grease (Or
Food-Grade Anti-seize)
Mobil HTS g rease (or food-g rade anti-seize) is used
in the follo wing locations:
—Betw een splines of the cutter housing spindle and
shea v e .
Copper-Based Anti-seize
Copper -based anti-seize is used in the follo wing
locations:
• On threads of Blade Bolts . See Check Mo w er
Blades section.
• Betw een engine crankshaft, PTO shaft, and PTO
pulley .
• Betw een pump shafts and shea v es .
Dielectric Grease
Dielectric g rease is used on all blade type electrical
connections to prev ent cor rosion and loss of contact.
Dielectric g rease should not be applied to sealed
connectors .
