4. Connect the other end of the positi v e cable to the

ter minal (neg ati v e) of the booster batter y .

7. Star t the v ehicle and remo v e the cables in the
rev erse order of connection (the engine bloc k
(blac k) connection is the rst to disconnect).
Note: A malfunctioning mac hine batter y ma y cause
the c harging v oltag e to ex ceed 18.5 v olts . T he engine
will tur n off if there is a c harg e abo v e 18.5 v olts . T ur n
the ignition switc h off , then on ag ain to reset the
engine before restar ting the mac hine .
Check Mower Blades
Service Interval : Before each use or daily
1. Stop engine , w ait for all mo ving par ts to stop , and
remo v e k ey . Eng ag e parking brak e .
2. Lift dec k and secure in raised position as stated in
the Clean Grass Build-Up Under Deck section.
3. Inspect blades and shar pen or re place as required.
4. R einstall the blades (if they w ere remo v ed) in the
follo wing order :
A. Install bushing through blade with bushing
ang e on bottom (g rass) side of blade .

B . Install bushing/blade assembly into spindle .

1. Use wrench here for blade installation. This nut has
been torqued to 130-160 ft-lb (176–217 N-m)
2. T orque to 50-60 ft-lb (68-81 N-m) Apply lubricant to
threads as needed to prevent seizing. Copper-based
anti-seize preferable. Grease acceptable substitute.
C . Apply lubricant to threads of blade bolt as
needed to prev ent seizing . Copper -based
anti-seize preferable . Grease acce ptable
substitute . Install blade bolt ng er tight. Place
wrenc h on the top spindle n ut then tor que the
blade bolts to 50-60 ft-lb (68-81 N-m).
