Chapter 4: Probes
• Use the 12mm wrench to hand-tighten the probe.
CAUTION: Only hand-tighten the probe after you have installed it. Do not
over-tighten the probe.
Use your measuring software to setup and compensate the probe. See “Probes”
on page 54.
Renishaw Probe Installation and Operation
The Renishaw Probe installation and operation is optional. Renishaw probes
collect points by touching a stylus to the part. FARO distributes the TP-20 probe.

OTE: The Renishaw TP-2 Probe is not supported.
TP-20 Probe Kit
The TP-20 Probe kit contains:
• Renishaw (S1) C Spanner wrench
• Renishaw S9 double-ended C Spanner wrench
• Two Renishaw S7 stylus tools
• Renishaw CK200 cleaning kit
• A magnetized TP-20 probe body
• Three separate magnetized TP-20 probe modules, which connect to the TP-
20 probe body.
