Before refitting the cylinder head :
● Clean all the parts which have been removed.
● Clean sealing faces of cylinder head and
crankcase, and blow out tapped holes in
crankcase.
● In the event of repeated leaking, use the
straight edge to chek the sealing faces of
cranskcase and cylinder head for distortion.
● Uneven cylinder heads can be surface ground
by up to 1 mm.
● Remachined sealing surfaces are measured in
relation to the bore centre of the cranskshaft
bearing.
Note:
Sealing surface of the cylinder head and
crankcase may only be cleaned manually by
scraper and slight sandpaper on a polishing
block.

Insert two 6h 8x10 DIN 7 straight pins per head
into the leading surface of the crankshaft housing
to locate the cylinder heads

If these straight pins need replacing, observe the
max. projection of 4,5mm.
