tapping (1).
Causes that may influence measurement
l Incorrect or loose mounting of bracket frame, support posts
l Incorrect or loose mounting of sensor and reflector on the support posts
l Loose machine anchor bolts
l Unstable or damaged machine foundation
l Mounted components strike machine foundation or machine casings or frame during
shaft rotation
l High breakaway torque from rotatable and non-rotatable shafts
l Coupling backlash
l Change of rotational direction during and between measurements
l Mounted components moved during shaft rotation
l Uneven shaft rotation
l Change in temperature within machines
l External vibration from other rotating machines
Results and Live Move
l V is the vertical orientation of the machines viewed from the side.
l H is the horizontal orientation of the machines viewed from the top.
l The foot results which are used in correcting misalignment are position values with
respect to the reference machine.
l The bold colored foot tolerance arrows show the direction and magnitude in which to
move the machine. The color code also shows the attained alignment tolerance.
