Forsafetyreasons, onlyuse tires, wheels and
accessories whichhave been specially
approvedbyFreightliner Sprinter foryour
vehicle.
These tires have been speciallyadaptedfor
use withthe controlsystems, suchasABS or
ESP
®
.
Otherwise, certain properties,suchashan‐
dling characteristics, vehicle noise and con‐
sumption could be adverselyaffected. Fur‐
thermore, other tiresize could result in the
tires rubbing againstthe body and axle com‐
ponents when loaded. This could result in
damagetothe tireorthe vehicle.

Retreadedtires arenot checkedorrecom‐
mended by Freightliner Sprinter,asprevious

retreadprocess.

Vehicles with atirepressuremonitoring
system: thereare electronic component
parts in thewheel. Tire-installing tools should
notbeapplied in theareaofthe valve.
Otherwise, theelectronic componentparts
could be damaged.

Alwayshave tires changed at aqualified
specialistworkshop.
Accessories that arenot approvedfor your vehi‐
cle by Freightliner Sprinter,orare notbeing used
correctly, can impair operating safety.

accessories, visit aqualified specialistworkshop
and inquireabout:

Observe thefollowing points when selecting,
installing and replacing tires:
R
Use onlytires and wheels of thesame type,
design (winter tires, all-season tire) and
make.
R
Onlyinstall wheels of thesame size and tread
design on one axle (leftand right).
It is onlypermissible to install adifferent
wheel size to this in theevent of aflat tirein
order to drivetothe specialistworkshop.
R
Onlyinstall tires of thecorrect size ontothe
wheels.
R
Vehicles with atirepressuremonitoring
system: all installed wheels mustbeequip‐
ped withfunctioning sensorsfor thetirepres‐
suremonitoring system.
R
At temperatures below5F(10 °C), use
winter tires or all-season tires markedM+S
forall wheels.
Winter tires bearing the i snowflakesym‐
bol in addition to theM+S marking provide
thebestpossible grip in wintryroad condi‐
tions.
R
Only use tires withthe same tread.
R
Observe themaximum permissible speed for
theinstalled tires.
If this is belowthe vehicle's maximum per‐
missible speed, this mustbeindicated in an
appropriatelabel in thedriver's field of vision.

Break in newtires at moderatespeeds forthe
first60miles (100 km).
R
Replace thetires aftersix yearsatthe latest,
regardless of wear.
